Grief and mourning
Room to talk after the week of shiva ends
For adults after a death, in the first weeks and in the years that follow, including the yahrzeit and the holidays that come back each year.
The community gathers at the start and then goes home. Sessions are for what comes after: the quiet, the calendar and the questions that arrive later.

What to expect
What it is like, in six points
What sessions are like
They run 50 minutes, in person or by video. You can talk about the person, the days, or nothing in particular.
The method
Marc explains how he works and names the training behind any method he uses.
What it is not
It is not religious guidance, not a replacement for your rabbi or your community, and not an emergency service.
Length and frequency
Marc sets the pace with you, and plans around the dates you keep. We do not promise a number of sessions.
The calendar
Tell us the yahrzeit and the holidays that are hard. We will plan around them and tell you which days we are closed.
How it is paid
You pay at the end of each session, with a good faith estimate in writing first if you pay without insurance.
Questions
Three questions about this service
What happens in the first session?
It lasts 60 minutes. Marc explains how he works, the limits of confidentiality and the possible risks and benefits of therapy, and listens. At the end, you both decide whether to continue.
How often, and for how long?
Marc sets the pace with you. We do not promise a number of sessions: it depends on what you want to work on and how you feel.
What do I do in a crisis?
Call or text 988, any time. In an emergency, call 911. This site and our messages are not monitored around the clock.
Write to us to begin
The fees, the receipt and the written estimate are explained on the fees page.
